"Do House Concerts get any better than this? I can't imagine they do. We found that it is indeed true that Carl uses every possible part of the guitar to produce incredible percussion and sounds. His exotic tunings and unique finger styles were only matched by the depth of his songs. One of those evenings you never want to end." --Nolan Pepperdine, Olalla House |
What is a house concert? A house concert is a fun and intimate way to enjoy professional live music with friends and family in the comfort of your home. You don’t need to own an arena or rent a large hall — the concert can be held in any room large enough to accommodate your desired number of guests, or outside on a patio or in your backyard. There are NO UP-FRONT COSTS for the host. How do I get started? Plan a house concert the same way you would any other party. It can be as simple or elaborate as you like, from a wine and cheese evening to an afternoon picnic. Book the date for the concert and send or e-mail invitations for the event. Typically, each guest is asked to contribute between $15 - $20 (depending on the number of guests) to the musician. Send an e-mail with a link to Carl’s website to listen to his music. Concerts last between 1-1/2 and 2 hours, often with an intermission — which is a great time to serve refreshments and socialize. Consider having simple hors d’oeuvres, a dessert buffet, or have your friends bring a potluck dish and their own beverages. Sit back, relax and enjoy a memorable evening! Please e-mail Carl if you'd like to schedule a house concert or have further questions in regards to cost.
